In 2006, an outbreak of the bird flu virus killed 144 people around the world. This epidemic alarmed presidents and prime ministers of various countries. A global plan was mounted to prepare the world for such phenomena and similar calamity. It is important that a person gets a flu shot vaccine for protection against the virus. Following are other measures: Avoid going to crowded places. Stay away from birds suspected of carrying the disease. Wash your hands and bathe daily. If the situation calls for it, wear a N95 before heading outdoors.
