Bird-breeder's lung, also called bird fancier's lung or bird fancier's disease, is a type of hypersentivity pneumonitis caused by avian proteins. Exposure to bird feathers and droppings result to inflammation of the air-containing pockets of the lungs due to hypersensitivity. Treatment includes avoidance of the allergens and medications such as corticosteroids.
