Research Notes on Biphetamine
Biphetamine is a brand name for a type of amphetamine called dextroamphetamine sulfate. Primarily used for treatment of ADHD, Biphetamine was discontinued in the 1970s due to abuse as a recreational drug. A milder form of Biphetamine is now marketed as Adderall.1 For complete information, see the dextroamphetamine WisdomCard.
Fast Facts:
- Adderall can be used in the treatment of ADHD, narcolepsy, depression,and brain dysfunction.2
- Another brand of dextroamphetamine is called Dexedrine.1
- Only 1/4 of Adderall is made up of dextroamphetamine sulfate.2
- Side effects of Adderall may include dry mouth, sleeplessness, and loss of appetite.2
