Research Notes on Biofeedback for Epilepsy
Biofeedback has become increasingly popular in treating a number of illnesses, including epilepsy. The self-training, mind-over-body technique has shown to be effective in people who experience partial seizures or secondary generalized seizures.1 Biofeedback does not control seizures, but has been shown to reduce the frequency of seizures in some people.2

- There are no risks associated with treating epilepsy with biofeedback.3
- Biofeedback usually takes a significant period of time to learn.1
- As with any alternative course of treatment, you should consult your physician prior to beginning biofeedback.
