Research Notes on Biliary Stricture
Biliary stricture is the narrowing of the bile duct, the tube that moves bile from your liver to your small intestine during digestion. This narrowing is caused by scar tissue that results from bile duct injury, cancer or disease.1 The stricture causes bile, the chemical that aids digestion, to back up and spill into your blood causing jaundice.

- Biliary stricture can not be prevented, however by preventing gallstones and bile duct or pancreatic cancer, your chances of getting a biliary stricture are greatly reduced.1
