Research Notes on Best Antioxidant Foods
There are many foods that are high in antioxidants. Blueberries have been the food researchers believed had the highest amount of antioxidants in them for many years.1 New research has come out that small, red beans are actually the food with the highest antioxidant amounts.1 Antioxidants can be found in many foods, but there are some with higher amounts. These include kidney beans, pinto beans, artichoke, cranberries, blackberries, prunes, apples, strawberries, and pecans.2
Fast Facts:
- Antioxidants are now frequently used in skincare products to help get rid of wrinkles.3
- Green tea is another high antioxidant food, and one that has become more popular over the years.
- Scientists have developed a rating scale for antioxidant foods called ORAC, or Oxygen Radical Absorbance Capacity.2
