Benzodiazepines are a class of drugs which have multiple uses, including generalized anxiety disorder, epilepsy, bipolar disorder, and a wide variety of psychiatric disorders.1 Benzodiazepines were discovered in 1954 by Leo Sternbach.2 There are many different benzodiazepines in use at this time.
