Benign tumors are tumors that lack the properties of cancer. Most benign tumors do not require treatment.
Fast Facts:
- By definition, benign tumors do not grow in an unlimited, aggressive manner, do not invade surrounding tissues, and do not metastasize.
- Some benign tumors are harmful to your health due to their location in the body, or due to their size.
- Examples of benign tumors include moles and uterine fibroids.
