Research Notes on Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo
Benign Paroxysmal Positional Vertigo or BPPV is an inner ear disorder which produces a sensation of motion and loss of balance. It is a sensory disturbance involving the semi-circular canal of the ear which acts a gyroscope (device for measuring or maintaining orientation) and normally maintains balance. BPPV is the most common vestibular disorder and can be treated with meclizine and the Eppley maneuver.
