Research Notes on Benign Hypertension
Benign hypertension is a type of high blood pressure that is mild to moderate. With benign hypertension a person's blood pressure stays elevated, but there is less risk of heart failure or organ damage.1 Benign hypertension tends to have no symptoms and run a relatively long course.2
Fast Facts:
- Normally a person will not feel any symptoms associated with high blood pressure.3
- Despite the label "benign," all high blood pressure can eventually damage the heart and increases the risk of heart attack and stroke.2
- There is very little information available about benign hypertension, please refer to the hypertension WisdomCard for more information.
