Benign acanthosis nigricans is cancer-associated AN. A benign sign is much milder compared to a sign of a malignant type and is characterized by lesser pigmentation and thickness. The onset of signs usually occurs during birth, childhood, or puberty. The affected areas are also isolated. Even if this condition is benign, a regular medical check up, proper skin care, proper diet, and exercise are advised.
