Research Notes on Behavioral Effects of the Manic Phase
Mania is one phase of bipolar disorder that has a significant effect on a person's behavior. This phase can cause a person to have an increased energy level, be extremely irritable, have poor judgment, an increased sex drive, and have an increased risk of drug and alcohol use.1 Onset of this phase usually happens over the course of a couple of days.2
