Barberry, also called berberry or Berberis vulgaris, has been used medicinally for thousands of years.1 It has been used to treat diarrhea, upset stomach and reduce fever.1 It is sometimes used as a remedy for jaundice.2

- Is taken 15-20 minutes before a meal for indigestion.3
- Overdose can result in nose bleeds, vomiting and kidney irritation.3
- Can lower blood pressure.3
- Treatment for psoriasis.4
