Research Notes on Bagassosis
The type of hypersensitivity pneumonitis caused by exposure to moldy bagasse (pressed sugarcane) is called bagassosis. The reaction causes the lungs to get inflamed within 4-12 hours after exposure. Avoidance of repeated contact is one way of treating the condition.
