The symptoms of back pain include muscle spasms, cramping, and stiffness.1 You may also experience pain that develops quickly in the back and buttocks.2 If your back pain is nerve-related, you may have feelings of numbness or weakness in the foot or lower leg.1

- Pain that is the result of diseases that affect the spine may cause a fever and sensitivity of the spine to pressure.2
- Back pain may cause an inability to stand straight without spasms.1
