Baylor's Human Neuroimaging Laboratory conducted a study to understand the baby-mother bond and found that the mothers when shown pictures of their babies smiling the blood flow in their brain increased. When looking at their babies their brains produced more dopamine the same chemical that is produced with nicotine and cocaine.
