B-Cell Lymphoma

B-Cell Lymphoma is type of cancer that effects the B-Cells (white blood cells) in our body.1 It is a type of non-Hodgkin's lymphoma, mostly occurring in people with immune system disorders such as AIDS.2 B-Cells in our body are cells that we have to fight bacteria, once those cells have mutated and become cancerous they will multiply, and create clones of those cells throughout the body. Since they are cloning individual cells every persons B-cell Lymphoma is unique.3

  • -- There are two types of lymphocytes, B-cell and T-cell.
  • -- B-cell lymphoma is the most common in the United States. Making up 85% of all lymphomas.5
  • -- B-cells create antibodies to fight against infection, bacteria, and viruses in the body.
  • -- B-cells are all throughout the body so B-cell lymphoma can start anywhere, but the main places they normally start are in the lymph nodes, spleen, thymus Gland, adenoids, tonsils, digestive tract, and bone marrow.
  • -- Most common treatments are chemotherapy, radiation, and monoclonal antibody therapy.6
