Research Notes on Avalide Overdose
Symptoms of an Avalide overdose include: dry mouth, unusually slow or fast heartbeat, and very low blood pressure. An Avalide overdose should be considered a medical emergency, and treatment should be sought at a health care facility. If you cannot reach a health care facility, contact the local or National Poison Control Center at 1-800-222-1222.1
Fast Facts:
- Muscle cramps, weakness, nausea, excessive thirst, and confusion are other possible symptoms of a Avalide overdose.2
- An overdose occurs whenever an individual takes more than the recommended amount of a medication, whether intentionally or on accident.
- A hypertension medication, Avalide is the brand name of the combination of the two generic drugs irbesartan and hydrochlorothiazide.1
