Autoimmune Hepatitis is a disease in which the body's own immune system attacks the cells of the liver. There are two types of autoimmune hepatitis, Type 1 and Type 2. Type 1 is the most common form in North America. Of those diagnosed with autoimmune hepatitis, 70% are females between the ages of 15 and forty. The cause of autoimmune hepatitis is still unknown.
