Research Notes on Attention Deficit Disorder and Zoloft
Zoloft (sertraline) recently has become more widely used in the treatment of ADD/ADHD.1 Zoloft is approved for the treatment of depression, obsessive-compulsive disorder, panic disorder, premenstrual dysphoric disorder, posttraumatic stress disorder, and social anxiety disorder.2 Zoloft is being used in conjunction with other medications, or as a primary medication for the treatment of ADD/ADHD.3 Zoloft is an SSRI antidepressant medication.4

- ADD/ADHD is common in children and adults and is normally treated with a stimulant medication.5
- The use of Zoloft for ADHD is an off-label use that is not approved by the FDA.
- Some people who have taken Zoloft have increased difficulty with memory and concentration.6
- Zoloft may help someone improve their mood, sleep, appetite, and energy level, and may help restore your interest in daily living.7
