Artificial Sweeteners and Children

GuideWisdom™

This WisdomCard managed by: Tara Salamone

Kids are so fond of eating chocolate, ice cream, candy, and cake. We know that sweets contain high amounts of sugar, which make children more prone to diabetes and other health problems. Some of these foods contain artificial sweeteners as replacement for table sugar. Artificial sweeteners are said to be much sweeter than natural ones, but do not increase blood sugar levels. Researchers have continually been studying artificial sweeteners due to its potential risk on health, not only for kids, but also for adults. It is advisable to decrease one’s intake of sweets and maintain a healthful, balanced diet.
