Articulation disorder is characterized by difficulty in producing proper sounds, syllables, and words. Manifestation of this condition includes substituting one sound for another (wabbit for rabbit), omitting a sound (han for hand), and distorting a sound (ship for sip). It may be the result of several conditions such as a cleft palate, hearing loss, and other oral and dental problems.
