Research Notes on Arthritis Diet
While there is no clear evidence that food effects arthritis, due to the condition being worse on some days than others it appears that it may be a contributing factor for flareups. If you suspect a food causes your arthritis to become worse, and the food is not required, it is okay to omit it from your diet to see if your arthritis improves.1
Fast Facts:
- It is important to have a healthy diet because excess weight puts increased stress on your weight-bearing joints.1
- Fatigue and pain can lower your appetite.2
- Studies have shown that a high cholesterol and high fat diet may be a contributing factor.3
