Research Notes on Appendicitis
Appendicitis (or epityphlitis) is a condition characterized by inflammation of the appendix. All cases require removal of the inflamed appendix, either by laparotomy or laparoscopy. Untreated, mortality is high, mainly due to peritonitis and shock. ...read more from Wikipedia

- To help diagnose appendicitis a blood test, urine test and abdominal x-rays or ultrasound may be ordered by a physician. 2
- Symptoms of appendicitis are abdominal pain, especially around the belly button, low-grade fever, loss of appetite, nausea and vomiting, diarrhea, frequent urination. 3
