Research Notes on Aortic Dissection
An aortic dissection is a tear in the lining of the aortic wall. It is often fatal. Aortic dissection usually occurs because high blood pressure causes the artery's wall to deteriorate. About 75% of patients are between the age of 40-70. A well known actor, John Ritter, died of this condition.
