Research Notes on Antiphospholipid Antibody Syndrome
Antiphospholipid antibody syndrome (APS) causes blood clots in the veins or arteries. The condition can affect any organ, including the lungs, brain, liver, kidneys, eyes, heart and skin. Complications may include stroke, heart damage and high blood pressure in your lungs.

- Antiphospholipid syndrome is a a disorder of coagulation.
- The risk factors for antipholipid syndrome are autoimmune condition such as lupus and other risk factors include having certain infections, such as syphilis or hepatitis C.
- Treatment is a combination of heparin and warfarin and may also include low-dose aspirin.
