Hemorrhoids can cause painless bleeding with bowel movement. It is due to varicosities or swelling and inflammation of blood vessels in the rectum and anus. Antioxidants, specifically flavonoids, are known to strengthen dilated veins. Studies have proven the efficacy of flavonoids in maintaining or regaining structural integrity of the vessels.
