Research Notes on Antidepressant Usage Anxiety
Anxiety can present itself as a side effect or as a withdrawal effect of certain antidepressants. Anxiety is a common side effect of SSRIs, or antidepressants that act on the chemical serotonin in the brain. Side effects of atypical antidepressants vary according to the drug, but these generally do not cause anxiety.1 Patients often have similar questions about taking antidepressants. OrganizedWisdom has psychiatrists addressing the most common concerns about taking these drugs.
