Research Notes on Antidepressant No Help for Autistic Children
Celexa (citalopram), a common antidepressant prescribed for children with autism, is now shown to be less effective than previously thought. A government-funded study found that children who received this antidepressant had the same amount of autistic behaviors as the children who were on a placebo. Over 140 children were involved in this study.1
