Medications for epilepsy does not cure epilepsy but helps to prevent the occurrence of seizure. Most drugs for seizure are central nervous system depressants which suppresses the electrical activity in the nerve cells of the brain. Maintenance of prescribed medication is very important in controlling the episodes of seizure in people with epilepsy.
