Research Notes on Anti-Aging Supplements
Some medical professionals believe that aging process is related to damage of the mitochondria in our tissue cells. Mitochondria are the part of the cell that provide energy for regular function. Over time, the mitochondria degrade, and this damage may be responsible for age related diseases such as Parkinson's disease, heart disease, and cancer. Anti-aging supplements claim they can rejuvenate mitochondria and slow down the aging process.1
Fast Facts:
- There is very little evidence that ant-aging supplements can be effective in humans, though they have been thoroughly tested in animals.1
- Makers of the supplement Juvenon claim it can restore old and damaged mitochondria, but Juvenon has only been studied extensively in rats.1
- Before taking any drug or supplement, research the product thoroughly and make sure it is safe for you to take.2
- The best anti-aging supplements are vitamin supplements because proper nutrition is the key to any anti-aging solution.2
