Singer Amy Winehouse was diagnosed with having early-stage emphysema at the age of 24.1 Winehouse's father said her emphysema could be attributed to using crack cocaine and cigarettes.2 Her father also stated that Winehouse has 70 percent lung capacity as a result of her lifestyle.1 Winehouse was hospitalized in 2008 after fainting at home.1

- According to experts, emphysema is uncommon for people as young as Winehouse.2
