Research Notes on Amifostine Dosage
The starting dose of amifostine recommended to protect the kidneys during chemotherapy is 910 mg/m2. For patients receiving radiation therapy, the recommended starting dose is 200 mg/m2. In either treatment, amifostine should be administered via IV, 30 minutes before treatment begins.1
