Alzheimer's disease (AD) is a degenerative brain disorder characterized by progressive deterioration of the cognitive functions. The exact cause of this disease is unknown, but it may be associated with the mutation of certain genes. A number of genes that are inherited have also been identified in causing early or late-onset AD.
