Research Notes on Altace Dosage
For people who have recently had a heart attack and have symptoms of congestive heart failure, the recommended dose for Altace (ramipril) is 2.5 milligrams.1 The same dose is recommended for people with high blood pressure who are just starting Altace.1 The dose may decrease or increase depending on how well you respond to the drug.2
Fast Facts:
- If you are taking Altace to reduce the risk of having a heart attack, your doctor may increase your dose up to 10 milligrams a day.2
- The dose of Altace prescribed for high blood pressure can be increased up to 20 milligrams.2
- Altace should be taken at the same time each day.2
