Allergy Medications Side Effects

GuideWisdom™

This WisdomCard managed by: Chris Miller

The most common medications prescribed in the treatment of allergy are analgesic, antihistamine and decongestant. As with other drugs, analgesic, antihistamine and decongestant have side effects. The most common of these are drowsiness or sleepiness for antihistamine, so you should take this into consideration if you'll be driving or will be engaging in tasks that needs you to be fully alert. For decongestants can raise blood pressure, which can be particularly dangerous in patients with high blood pressure that is not well controlled.
