Allergies and Pregnancy

If a woman has had allergies prior to pregnancy, they could worsen, stay the same, or even improve. Nonallergic rhinitis in pregnancy may also be due to an increase in pregnancy hormones, leading to nasal congestion, runny nose and post nasal drip.1

Fast Facts:

  • Asthma affects almost 7% of pregnant women.2
  • Allergy shots are safe to get while pregnant.3
  • It's best to avoid exposing a fetus to medications, especially in the first trimester.4
