Research Notes on Albuterol and Breastfeeding
If you are breastfeeding, albuterol is considered to be safe to use.1 Research has not been conducted to determine if albuterol passes into breast milk, but is unlikely that the drug would harm a nursing infant.2 If your doctor recommends using albuterol while you are breastfeeding, watch your child for side effects.1

- Albuterol is used to treat the symptoms of asthma and chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).1
- Possible side effects of using albuterol include coughing, insomnia, and upper respiratory tract infections.1
- Albuterol may not be safe to use during pregnancy.1
