Research Notes on Akira Kurosawa and Depression
Akira Kurosawa, a Japanese filmmaker, was believed to have suffered from depression during his lifetime. At one point, after unsuccessfully trying to film in color, he attempted suicide. Also his brother suffered from depression and committed suicide, which plunged Kurosawa into a deeper depression. There is very little reliable information on Akira Kurosawa and depression.
