Research Notes on Advair Inhaler
Advair inhaler is an aerosol form of the drugs fluticasone and salmeterol.1 The two drugs combined are used to improve lung function as well as help control asthma symptoms.1 However, it should not be used when an asthma attack occurs suddenly, or when asthma symptoms such as wheezing and chest tightness worsen.2 The Advair inhaler is also used to slow down the progression of chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD).2

- Advair inhaler is also known as Advair HFA inhaler.3
- Persons with allergies to milk proteins or any ingredients in the Advair inhaler should not use the inhaler.2
- Side effects of the Advair inhaler include: dizziness, headache, nausea, nervousness, throat irritation, tremors, and vomiting.1
- If taking diuretics, beta blockers or Azole antifungals, consult a physician before using the Advair inhaler.2
