Fetal alcohol syndrome (FAS) is a group of permanent physical and mental disorders from alcohol exposure during pregnancy. Mental disabilities are common among adults diagnosed with FAS during childhood. Adults with FAS are often seen with learning, emotional and behavioral problems.
