Research Notes on Adrenergic Bronchodilators

Adrenergic bronchodilators are also known as "fast-acting" or "rescue" inhalers. The bronchodilator works by opening the air flow in the bronchial tubes when the airway swells. It acts by relaxing the muscles around the surrounding airway to prevent asphyxiation. The most common conditions adrenergic bronchodilators are used for are: asthma, chronic bronchitis, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), emphysema, and lung disease.
