Research Notes on Adrenal Adenoma


Adrenal adenomas do not present with symptoms in most people and are usually found incidentally while doing a scan for other reasons. It is common and only one in 10,000 cases would be malignant. Some adenomas do not secrete hormones while others may secrete cortisol, aldosterone or androgen. The hormone-secreting tumors can cause certain symptoms to appear such as high blood pressure, hypokalemia, and abnormal menstrual periods in women.
