Research Notes on Adenosine
Adenosine is an anti-inflammatory medication that prevents tissue damage during instances of hypoxia, ischemia, and seizure activity.1 It's an injection that is put into a vein or a muscle by a health-care professional in a hospital or clinic setting.2 It helps to dilate the coronary arteries and is used in the thallium scan of the heart.3 In addition, it can aid in regulating the rhythm of the heart, tone blood vessels, maintain wakefulness and help to produce urine.4
