Research Notes on Adefovir
Adefovir is utilized for the treatment of chronic hepatitis B and although it is not a cure, it may lower the amount of the virus found in the body.1 In addition, it may help to reduce the virus' ability to multiply.1 This medication is available only by prescription, for those who are at least twelve years of age.1 It is classified as an nucleotide analog. 2
