Research Notes on Adderall Snorting
There have not been any clinical trials done to prove the dangers and safety of snorting Adderall (amphetamine and dextroamphetamine); however, snorting Adderall allows it to enter the bloodstream quicker, making it more potent. Adderall is snorted because it is a stimulant that can cause a "high" or for weight loss (a common side effect of Adderall).1 The dangers of snorting Adderall include destruction of the nasal and sinus cavities and lung tissue, irregular heartbeat, problems with circulation, psychotic episodes, increased aggression, toxic shock, and even death.2

- Snorting Adderall can lead to an addiction. Withdrawing from Adderall when addicted can lead to severe depression, psychosis, restlessness, and extreme feelings of agitation.2
- A health care provider can provide recommendations to help people who are addicted to Adderall.1
- There is not a lot of reliable information about Adderall snorting available on the internet.
