Research Notes on Acupuncture Points
Acupuncture points are the locations on the body in which acupuncture needles are placed in order to obtain optimal health.1 Current practitioners of Traditional Chinese Medicine are aware of over 300 such points on the body.2 Many points are located along meridians (or lines) across the body and may be in a totally different location than the area which they control.1
Fast Facts:
- An acupuncture point related to the large intestine can be found on the finger.3
- To help ease conditions of the heart, a point in the center of the armpit is used.3
- A point used to help with kidney health is located on the sole of the foot.3
