Research Notes on Acromegaly Causes
Acromegaly is a very serious condition which is caused by the body producing too much growth hormone. The word acromegaly is a Greek term for enlargement and extremities. Some common symptoms may include headache, vision loss, increased perspiration, and carpal tunnel syndrome.1
Fast Facts:
- Mostly seen in adults between the ages of 30 to 50 years old.2
- Can not be prevented.3
- Some complications may include type 2 diabetes, arthritis, colon polyps, high blood pressure, and cardiovascular disease.4
