Acid Reflux Drugs and Bone Fractures

Medications for acid reflux such as proton pump inhibitors and histamine blocking agents have been linked to causing fractures. In a recent study of these drugs, it was revealed that they can interfere with calcium absorption in the body. It was also found that people who have been taking these medications daily for a year are more prone to hip fractures.
