Achard syndrome is different from Marfan syndrome in that the former does not include eye and heart abnormalities, and subnormal subcutaneous fat content. However, myopia, lens dislocation, and spherophakia (unusually small, round lenses of the eyes ) are cited by some to be characteristic of the syndrome. Arachnodactyly may be present in Achard syndrome, but the body is normally proportioned and the patient is not excessively tall.
